Transport in Luton
by chet on Nov.13, 2008, under Luton Town, Luton Travel
Luton offers excellent transportation links in and out of the town. Luton is just over 30 miles north of London and the Intercity trains take only 25 mins to Kings Cross, London. The slightly slower regional trains take 35 mins with a slightly more bumpy ride. There are 3 train stations in Luton, Luton Airport Parkway, Luton Town and Leagrave (north Luton) and trains run on a regular basis even through the night from Kings Cross station in London.
Then there is the infamous London Luton International Airport with excellent connections to Europe via low cost carriers such as EasyJet and Ryanair. With these carriers offering more and more routes, you are spoilt for choice when travelling to Europe. You can get to the airport easily from J10 of the M1 motorway or Luton Parkway train station.
The central bus station is located in the town centre next to the town’s main train station with buses and coaches connecting to London and the other major UK cities. This can sometimes prove to be an inexpensive form of transport when travelling on a budget.
